Quest for Souls is an evangelistic ministry committed to the reaching of lost souls everywhere people live. We love sinners under a bridge in Kansas City and in a remote village in Kirabati as well.

The passion for souls goes all the back to the Brownsville Revival in the late 1990’s and the desire to win the lost was instilled in Peter from Steve Hill and others. Since then, he has worked with soul winners like T.L. Osborn, Reinhard Bonnke and R.W. Schambach. The dual mantle of revival and evangelism remains at the core of everything he preaches.

While many evangelists focus in Africa and South America, as a ministry we want to go to the “regions beyond” (2 Corinthians 10:16). Very little evangelistic work is happening in Oceania and that is where Quest for Souls is focused. All the islands between Hawaii and Australia needs the gospel just as much as they do in Nigeria and Brazil.

Several years ago, I had the opportunity to have dinner with Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With A Mission. He said that the greatest need for missions work currently in the Pacific Islands. Shortly after that, I found myself in the Fiji Islands working on a project about revival. It was the beginning of a love for the people of Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia.

Reaching the islands looks very different. Having massive crusades in stadiums is not an option in islands that have no stadiums or even roads. It takes a different wineskin to preach the same gospel to different culture. In many cases, each island and sometimes every village has a different set of cultural norms.

The goal of Quest for Souls is to proclaim the Pentecostal message in 12 Island Nations a year.

The model of Quest for Souls is a two year process for a village, town, or city. The initial visit is for training the believers (if any), establish relationships and hold revival meetings if there is a local assembly. If not, a partnership is formed to send a team to plant a gospel work from within the country. (This could look like a Fijian family in Suva moving to an outer island that we will do ministry in)

The second visit that is twelve months later, is to do evangelistic outreach. This could be a stadium event, village outreach or working with the nationals in street evangelism. The purpose is to harvest souls quickly and strength the local assembly.

The foundation of the gospel work in the Islands must be through the national leaders and rooted in the local assembly. The blow in, blow up and blow out model used in many other nations just won’t work. Islanders are very relationally driven, not event driven like Americans.

However, Quest for Souls is not just about missions (as important as that is!), souls are going to hell in the United States. In response to that, evangelistic works within Teen Challenge, homeless shelters, jails, and on the streets will be central to the model as well. Soulwinning is just a foreign missions thing. God loves the drug addict under the bridge just as much as the sinner in the remote village.

For Souls!
